  12.             The CSNET CIC  -  CREN/CSNET  Coordination  and  Information
  13.             Center)  was  shut  down  when  CSNET  ceased  operations in
  14.             October 1991.

  17.             _D_e_s_c_r_i_p_t_i_o_n

  19.             The CSNET Info-Server has been consolidated with  the  Info-
  20.             Server  operated  by  the NSF Network Service Center (NNSC).

  23.                o+  The   Info-Server:   info-server@nnsc.nsf.net.    This
  24.                   automatic program distributes documents in response to
  25.                   specially formatted messages.  The documents are  also
  26.                   available to Internet users through standard anonymous
  27.                   FTP login.

  29.             For instructions about this and other services, send a  mes-
  30.             sage  to info-server@nnsc.nsf.net with "HELP" in the body of
  31.             the message.

  33.             Other User Services operated by the CSNET CIC were:
  34.  
  35.                o+  The User Name Server:  Discontinued. There are no plan
  36.                   to revive this service.
  37.  
  38.                o+  Fixaddr:  This program is a helpful first step in con-
  39.                   verting  mailing  lists  to to up-to-date domain-style
  40.                   addresses.  The NNSC plans restore it if there is suf-
  41.                   ficient demand.

  43.                o+  Nslookup: For hosts that do not have access to  domain
  44.                   servers,  the nslookup program accepts domain names or
  45.                   IP addresses and sends back a message  containing  all
  46.                   domain  nameserver  records  (not  just  the MX ones).
  47.                   This program has been  temporarily  discontinued,  but
  48.                   may be revived in the near future.
